Bill is the written proposal on public interest presented for discussion in the legislature. It become a law by this process.
- Discussion of bill in either of the houses
Bill presented for making law is discussed in the representative house. i.e. either in House of Representatives or National Assembly. - Passing bill by majority
The bill is passed by the majority of the members of the respective house where it is presented. - Transfer to the next house
Bill passed by majority of one house is sent to the next house. - Returning bill to the same house
The bill transferred from one house to the next should be sent back to the same house with some suggestions within 15 days. - Approval by the speaker/chairperson
The bill which is edited according to the suggestion is approved by the speaker (House of Representatives) or Chairperson (National Assembly). After that the bill formally becomes law. - Issued by the president
The president issues the newly made law.
However, the finance related bill is presented only in the House of Representatives.
