Age specific fertility rate is the total number of live birth given by women in a certain age group per 1000 mid-year population of the women in the same age group in a year. Age specific fertility rate counts the fertility within a certain age group only. In demographic studies, it gives us important information about the trend of birth from a given specific age group. It helps to know whether adolescents are bearing children with a high risk of their health. It also gives an account of birth from elderly and adult people separately.
