Child labor is illegal in Nepal and the world. Yet there are still many children who are involved in child labor. The children involved in child labor are either from poor family or are street children, orphan children. The children usually end of doing minimal jobs and dangerous jobs like collecting plastic in garbage, breaking stones, carrying heavy bricks. They do not get to go to school or do anything that a normal child should do ideally.
A child should be able to enjoy their human rights and child rights from the time of their birth. The right which the country or state should ensure the child to have. This is called Child rights. The main objective of child rights is to provide every child born with right to affection, care , primary health, balanced diet, clothing, good education and environment.
Children are the future of the nation. They are the pillar of development and well-being not just for the nation but also for the older generation. Children if given proper rights and care in time can contribute to nations well being. Many children in world and Nepal leave their home and school to work in tempos, hotels, factories because of poverty and sometimes exploitation. Many poor families can not send their children to school even if they want to because there is no free education in Nepal.
The nation plays vital role in stopping child labor and ensuring Child Rights. If the government works more on implementation of the already present laws child labor can be removed. The government of Nepal already has laws in place but is lagging in its proper implementation not just in the capital but all over the country. The children need support of the state and government , they themselves can not take themselves out of the poor situation. And as the future of nation government must prioritize he Child rights of children to be given.
No child must be compelled to work. Children should not be discriminated on the basis of caste and religion. The state should ensure their basic needs. Government should setup child welfare center and court through out the country to provide proper implementation of child rights to the children of Nepal.
