A river is natural stream of fresh water. River always comes from the mountain and flows in along lines across the land into the sea , or lake or another river. Nepal is a Himalayan country, therefore. all of the rivers descend from mountains. The melted snow in summer makes the flow of river even larger.
The river starts its journey from mountain and flows through many places. It makes the land along the way fertile. Prosperous cities are all located around a river. The river is of great help to the farmer. Wherever the river passes , famine is rarely seen. Irrigation of river water helps agriculture to boom. River water are the main source of drinking water. People in Nepal still use river water directly to clean vessels, clothes , bathe. As the river water continuously flows the river doesn't remain dirty, rather the flow of water through different rocks and plants naturally keeps the water clean. In Nepal we use current of river to generate electricity. There are many tourist areas around river. In Nepal river is of great importance for development of the satin and well being of it's citizen.
Nepalese river are of three types. Rivers from glaciers, the rivers coming from these are full of water all year around. The rivers of this kind are Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali. The second type of river are the rivers which flow from Mahabharatha range. Although these rivers are permanent river. There is not much water in the winters as their water sources stay frozen in winter.Examples kankai, kamala, Bagmati. The third typed of river come from Chure. These river depend on monsoon for water, they are temporary. Example Setu, Ratuwa.
People who live in town have increased in population and with it the waste thrown into the river have increased. This has resulted in insufficiency of natural cleaning of the rivers. As rivers are very important in Nepal we should not throw non recyclable or non biodegradable waste in river. Rather work on cleaning the river as a community and finding there ways to manage our waste. We must unite as country and work on cleaning river's of Nepal which are of great value otherwise we will have no drinking water.
