Agenda 21
This is related to the slogan "think globally and act locally". It focuses on environmental conversation and sustainable development. This project contains environment, development and monitoring and implementing the arrangements at the local, national, regional and international levels. Agenda 21 is a non binding action plan of the United Nations with regard to sustainable development and it is a product of the Earth summit (UN conference on Environment and Development) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1992.
It is an action agenda for the UN and other multilateral organization and individual governments around the worlds that can be executed at local, national and global levels. The aim of agenda 21 was to achieve global sustainable development by 2000 with the 21 in the agenda 21 referring to the original target of the 21st century. Agenda 21 is grouped in 4 section:
- Social and economic dimensions
- Conservation and management of resources for development
- Strengthening the role of major groups
- Means of implementation
