About more than 100 years ago, there was a vast and powerful state named Germany. Otto Van Bismarck was the chancellor of that state. During the unification of Germany, the chancellor annexed two states of France; Alsace and Loraine. This incident sowed the seed of enmity between Germany and France. This incident took place in 1871 A.D. The Chancellor of Germany also formed a secret alliance with Austria-Hungary and Italy to strengthen his power. In counter attack, France also formed another secret group with Britain and Russia in 1904 A.D. These countries attacked Turkey by forming Balkan League in order to be independent and got success in their mission. Dissatisfied regarding the division of land obtained from Turkey, Bulgaria and Siberia also had a war. Such wars among the countries weakened their relationship. Austria-Hungary annexed Bosnia and Herzegovina which were given to it for only running administration by the congress of Berlin. Majority of the people of these states belonged to Serbian race. So enmity developed between Serbia and Austria-Hungary. Serbian youths formed a secret organization called Black Hand society to take revenge with Austria Hungary for the occupation of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Meanwhile, Austrian prince Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were murdered by a 19 year old Black Hand society member; Gavrilo princep at Sarajevo, The capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina during their visit. Annoyed with this incident, Austria-Hungary attacked Serbia on 28th July 1914 AD. This was the beginning of the first world war.
Germany had been victorious for the first 3 years of the war. Italy had left German's side and supported the allies of France while Austria-Hungary had already been defeated. When America joined the war siding France, The black day of Germany started. Finally, German emperor fled to Holland. Then Germany surrendered Versailles Treaty was signed in Versailles palace of France on 28th June, 1919, Germany was forced to sign this humiliating treaty. Almost 10 million people were killed in the course of war and world had spent about 336 million pound for the war. Industries, Trade, Agriculture, etc were badly affected.
Dictators emerged in different countries with the feeling of revenge. Some new countries emerged changing the map of the new world. Similarly, League of nations was established as the first global organization.
