There are two types of sources of air pollution. They are:
- Natural Sources: The sources of pollution which originate directly from nature are called natural sources of air pollution. For example: volcanic eruption, forest fire, soil erosion, vapour released from plants, etc.
- Artificial Sources: The sources of pollution which are not naturally made but are caused due to human activities are called artificial sources of air pollution. For example: carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen dioxide (NO2), Nitrogen oxide (NO), sulphur dioxide (SO2) Ammonia (NH3), waste from vehicles, gases from coal operated power plants, etc.
