The universal gravitational constant was first experimentally measured by Henry Cavendish on 1798 A.D. by using the sensitive balance.
The properties of universal gravitational constant (G) are as follow:
- It is independent of the medium in which the object are kept.
- it is independent of masses of the object .
- it is independent of physical factors like state of object, temperature, pressure, chemical composition and distance between object.
