The modern periodic table is superior to Mendeleev's periodic table due to the following reasons:
- The modern periodic table is based on the atomic number which is more fundamental than the atomic weight.
- It has removed the drawbacks about the position of isotopes.
- It separates the metals, metalloids and non metals.
- Representative and transition elements have been separated.
- It relates the position of an element in the periodic table with its electronic configuration.
