Development works done during the panchayat system:
- Second three year plan and third, forth, fifth, sixth and seventh five year plans were implemented during the panchayat system.
- Infrastructures like road transportation, education, health, irrigation drinking water, electricity, bridge etc were developed to some extend according to such plans.
- Government works were made more comfortable to the people by dividing the country into 14 zones and 75 districts.
- The development regions were created for the proportionate development of the country.
- The state power was decentralized dividing the country in the various VDC, municipalities, districts, zones and development regions based on the principle of decentralization.
- The number of ministry and corporations was reduced to prevent unnecessary misuse of budget.
- Dwelling in cities only cant bring development in the country. With the objective to carry out development works from the village in the involvement of people, popular program called 'Return to village' was launched.
