The composite indicator that shows the level of economic, health and educational progress of a country is called human development index. The economic growth of a country is not sufficient indicator that a country is prosperous and people of its country are happy and having quality of life and hence human development index (HDI) was created. In other words human development index is a brief description or conclusive measure of aggregate achievement in the key dimensions of human development. They key dimensions of human development are

  1. Having healthy life with higher life expectancy.
  2. Being well educated and knowledgeable.
  3. Having satisfactory quality life and standard of living.
