Support of UNO in the peace process in Nepal:
- UNO has played an important role in the comprehensive peace accord signed between the government of Nepal and CPN.
- UNO had sent its special political mission called UNMIN to mediate this agreement held between these two parties.
- Ian Martin was the chief of UNMIN.
- UNMIN worked from 2063 BS to 2067 BS supporting in the peace process in Nepal.
- Comprehensive peace accord was concluded between government of Nepal and CPN on 5th mangsir.
- It was signed by late Girija prasad koirala on behalf of the government and Puspa kamal dahal on behalf of CPN.
- After this agreement, the CPN declared the end of their 10 year long armed revolution formally. The management of Maoist weapons was also done in the support of the UNO.
