Subject: Changes after the declaration of democracy
Dear friend Kranti,
A very good evening.
I am fine here. I hope you are fine here too. I am going to inform you about the changes after the declaration of democracy in 2007 BS.
Democracy was introduced for the first time in the country on 7th Falgun, 2007 BS. The dawn of Democracy emerged in the horizon of the country ending 104 years long autocratic family rule. The declaration of democracy brought the following changes in Nepali society.
- Nepalese people were freed from the 104 years long autocratic Rana rule.
- It brought happiness in the face of all the people living in every nook and corner of the country.
- The interim constitution drafted in 2007 endowed several fundamental rights to the citizens.
- Schools, colleges were established in different parts of the country due to which the children of general Nepali citizens also got opportunity to read and write.
Though several political changes occurred in the country, due to the declaration of 7th Falgun, 2007, the tasks related to peace and security and developments works could not take expected speed.
This much for today. I hope that you will keep in touch through next email.
Your friend,
Shanti
