Effects of climate on natural vegetation in our community: 

  Region Climate Characteristics of Climate
1. Himalayan region  Cold and dry 
  • Coniferous trees are found in snowy and region with most winter season. 
  • Leaves are like Needle or comb so that the snow can easily slid down. 
  • Branches are soft like elastic so as not to be broken by the snow. 
  • Since it has very less rainfall, plants have thick bark to store the water by absorbing from snow. eg: pine, fir spruce etc. 
2.  Hilly region  Warm monsoon 
  • Deciduous trees are found due to change in season. 
  • Leaves of trees shed in the cold and dry winter. 
  • New leaves in plants bring grenery due to hot and wet summer. Eg: Uttish, Chilaune, Peeple, Bamboo are such plants. 
3.  Terai Region  Hot and Wet
  • Evergreen trees are found as it is hot throughout the year.
  • The forest looks green throughout the year. 
  • Dense forest with tall trees are found due to hot and wet climate. 
  • Eg: Sal, Teek, Sisau, are the plants found here.
