Efforts made for consumers rights

The rights of the people who consume any goods or services is called consumers' rights. The first law on consumers' rights was implemented in the USA on 15th march, 1963 A.D. Therefore, every year 15th march is observed as international consumers day throughout the world. However, consumers protection act was formulated on 1st Baisakh 2054 BS in Nepal. According consumers protection act, complain can be submitted in department of commerce, district administration office, police station etc in case of violation of consumers' rights. There is provision of compensation to the consumers in case of any harm caused bu the use of low quality of goods. The government has made provision for supervision officer to protect the consumers' rights. Similarly, the government has given priority for consumer's education. Consumer education has been given space in the new curriculum. It is the wish of every consumer for their effective implementation. hope concerned authority pays attention towards it.
