The reasons of reduction in the absolute poverty of Nepal:

  1. Foreign Employment
More than 2 million Nepalese have gone abroad (except India) for foreign employment. There is improvement in the living standard of many Nepalese families due to the remittance sent by them.
  2. Foreign Donation
Various Donor countries and organizations have been providing donation to alleviate poverty in Nepal. They also support in various economic activities to the poor Nepalese which has helped to improve the economic condition of the Nepalese people.
  3. Infrastructures Development
Trade and commerce has been extended in different parts of the country. Employment opportunities have increased due to the development of infrastructures like education, health, transportation, communication, electricity, etc.
  4. Modern Agriculture
Farmers living near the cities/towns and the places with the access of infrastructures have started to gain a good income through cash crops, fruits and vegetables, cultivation, cattle rearing, poultry farm, bee keeping, etc.
