Justify the reasons of winter rainfall in the Mediterranean climate region.

Mediterranean climate is found in the countries bordering Mediterranean sea in Europe an Africa and south west of both North America and South America. The most striking feature of this region is that receives more rainfall in winter than summer unlike other climatic region. Therefore it is called region of winter Rainfall.
The main reasons of it are :
- The climate has 6 months cold and 6 months warm climate.
- Westerly wind blows here in winter season. It brings a lot of water vapor therefore there is winter rainfall.
- The wind is reversed in summer and blows from the east. Since there is no ocean nearby in the east, the wind is dry.Such wind is called dry trade wind.
