Types of climate found in Africa
| Type of climate | Areas of climate | |
| 1. | Very hot and often dry | Since the equator crosses from central part of Africa, the climate is very hot. The region of savanna grassland is often dry as it lies far away from the sea. |
| 2. | Hot and wet | The western part lying in the equatorial region is on the coast of Atlantic ocean. There is a dense forest in Congo Basin and it has plenty of rainfall. |
| 3. | Dry climate (extreme) | Sahara, Namib, Kalahari, etc deserts lie in this region. There is almost no rainfall due to distance from sea. |
| 4. | Mediterranean climate | The north west part of the continent lies on the bank of Mediterranean sea with winter rainfall. |
| 5. | Tropical Monsoon climate | There is hot and wet summer and cold and dry winter like in Nepal in the eastern region of the continent. |
| 6. | Temperate oceanic climate | Southern region of south Africa lies near the sea with wild climate. |
