Why is use of wood as fuel not advised although forest can be replenished. SEE 2074.

If the use  of fuel is advised as it can be replenished , with the increase in population, the demand of amount of wood to produce energy will also be high. This will lead to pollution and wood takes long time to regain and replenish.

Wood as a fuel is not advisable though wood is renewable energy source as wood is obtained from trees. Trees are required to be chopped so as to use it as a fuel. On the other hand, burning of wood liberates smoke causing pollution.Wood fuel is a fuel, such as firewood, charcoal, chips, sheets, pellets, and sawdust. ... Today, burning of wood is the largest use of energy derived from a solid fuel biomass. In the case of burning wood, stored potential energy (in the form of chemical energy) in the log is released due to heating by other excited atoms.

Because dry wood produce more amount of smoke and its calorific value is less than LPG or any other fuels which we use as domestic fuel. Answer: Because they produce smoke or carbon dioxide which is a major source of air pollution and global warming. The important harmful effects produced by the burning of fuels are: 1)The burning of fuels like wood, coal and petroleum products releases unburnt carbon particles in the air, these fine carbon particles are dangerous pollutants which can cause respiratory diseases.Wood — unlike oil, coal and natural gas — is not considered a fossil fuel. But decomposing trees do give off carbon dioxide, and so does burning firewood. ... Those sugars are converted to wood," Bowyer said.
