Where does the body have more weight: at the pole or at the equator of the Earth? Why?
1 Answer
Weight of an object varies depending upon the distance of an object form the center of the earth. Weight is inversely proportional to the distance form the center. Poles of earth are flatter than equator making distance from the center smaller compared to the equator. Hence weight at the equator is smaller than weight at the poles.
