If a man has mass 60 kilogram and the area of his one of the feet is 150 cm2, what is the pressure exerted by him on the ground if he stands with one foot?

1 Answer

Here,

Mass of the person (m) = 60Kg

Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10 m/s2

Area covered by one foot = 150 cm 2 = 0.015 m 2

Now pressure (p) = \(\frac{Fore(F)}{Area(A)}\)

\(=\frac{m\times g}A\)

\(=\frac{60\times10}{0.015}\)

\(=40,000\frac N{m^2}\)

Hence the pressure exerted by his one foot is 40,000 pascal. Pressure exerted by his two feet would be 20,000 Pascal.
