Electric iron draws a current of 8 A from 220 V supply. What is the cost of using the iron 5 hours every day for one month? The rate of unit cost is Rs. 9

Here, voltage (V )= 220 V

current (I) = 8 A

time ( t) = 5 hours 

Now power of the iron  , P = V * I  = 220 * 8 = 1760 WATT = 1.76 KW

Electric unit consumption = P * t = 1.76 * 5 = 8.8 unit

Now, unit consumption per month  = 30 * 8.8 = 264 unit 

Total electric cost = unit consumed * per unit cost  = 264 * 9 = Rs 2376
