Does the interference of light obey the law of conservation of energy?
1 Answer
Yes, the law of conservation of energy is obeyed in case of interference of light. During interference of lightwave, there is an unequal energy distribution. There is greater energy at the bright fringe and minimum energy at the dark fringe. This means that the energy of the dark fringe transfers to the energy of bright fringe and the total energy remains the same. Hence interference phenomenon obeys the law of the conservation of the energy.
