Describe construction,working of hydraulic press.Prove it’s effort multiplier.

It consists of two cylinder. the cylinders cross section is different. In which small arm has smaller area while the bigger arms area is much larger. 

According to the formula of pressure, 

pressure at small cylinder P1 = f/a

similarly pressure at large cylinder P2 = F/A

by using pascal's law on theese arms, 

p1=  p2 

f/a = F/A 

F= f/a *A

since aarea of large cylinder is greater than that of the small cylinder and same for the force.

the smaller cylinder force can cause large force on the larger cylinder. 

This shows the effort multiplication feature of the hydraulic press.
