In a house 10 electric bulbs of watt power of each glow 3 hours of daily . 5 fans of power 20 watt each run 6 hours daily, an electric heater of power 1000 watt runs 2 hours in alternate days and an iron of power 750 watt runs in every week. Calculate the total power consumed by all device in one month. If cost per unit power consumption is Rs 10 then find the total cost of electricity. given 4 weeks = 1 month.
1 Answer
Power consumption per day by 10 electric bulbs of power 60 watt, running 3 hours = P *N *T
= \(\frac{60}{1000}\times10\;\times3\)
= 1.8 UNIT
POWER consumed per month by these electric bulbs (P1) = 1.8 * 30 = 54 UNIT
Power consumed per day by fans of power 200 watt each running 6 hours = P* N *T
= \(\frac{200}{1000}\times5\;\times6\)
= 6 UNIT
Power consumed by fans per month by these fans is (P2) = 6 * 30 = 180 UNIT
Power consumed by the electric heater of power 1000 watt in every alternate day = P * N * T
= \(\frac{1000}{1000}\times1\;\times2\)
= 2 UNIT
Power consumed per month by the heater ( P3 ) = 2*15 days = 30 unit
The power consumed per week by the iron is = P*N*T
= \(\frac{750}{1000}\times1\;\times2\)
= 0.75 *2 = 1.5 UNIT
So the power consumed per month by the iron (P4) = 1.5 * 4 = 6 unit
Now total power consumed by all devices in one month is
= P1 + P2 +P3+ P4
= 54 + 180+30 +6 = 270 UNIT
The cost of electricity consumption = total power consumption * rate per unit = 270*10 = Rs 2700
