Tribhuvan University (TU) has created a task force to make decision on examinations under the semester system(not in yearly system) which have been postponed due to the lock down.

TU Rector Prof Dr Shivalal Bhusal is the coordinator of the task force to give suggestion regarding what to do with the examinations under the semester system.

TU Examinations Controller Pushpa Raj Joshi said a decision would be taken regarding the exams under the semester system based on the suggestions of the task force.

“We will decide about the examinations on the basis of the recommendation of the task force. So far we have not taken any decision about the examinations under the semester system, ” he said.

The examinations of Bachelor’s level second and fourth semester and the Master’s level second and fourth semester had been postponed due to the COVID-19.

Annual exams to be held

Examinations Controller Joshi further shared that the examinations under the yearly system would be conducted after the situation became normal. He added that the examinations under this system would be held regularly after the lockdown is lifted as the exams schedule has already been published.

” At present all students have gone home. Students would be in a situation to come back after the public transport becomes easy with the removal of the lockdown,” he said, adding that the TU Office of the Controller of Examinations would re-publish the exams schedule giving some time to the students to prepare for the examinations.

The country’s largest and oldest university had postponed since March 20 all the examinations under semester and yearly system citing risk of COVID-19.

The Office has however published the results of examinations of 14 levels during the lockdown.
