Nepal is a beautiful country. Though small but rich in its natural and cultural heritage. Nepal is the second richest country in the world for water resources. Nepal is a multilingual, multicultural and multi ethnic country where people from all cultural background live in harmony.

Since, abolishing the monarchy rule in Nepal, Nepal and Nepalese people have been trying to build a constitution of Nepal for all Nepalese. But there is constant change in political system and turmoil in the nation.

Nepalese people have tried to build a constitution for the people of Nepal considering all minorities  equally and for prosperity of Nepal. During the rule of King Nepalese people did not have rights of selecting president and not much say in constitution either. Since the constitution was written without proper representation of the Nepalese people there was great injustice in constitution of Nepal. There were no rights given to the minorities like dalit, mahila, janjati, tharu, muslim, madhesi and so on. Constitution given to the country by the king had no democracy in the substance.

Seeing the injustice Maoist party started violent movement which lasted for 10 years with the goal of formation of new constitution for the people. The whole nation came together to draft a new constitution for Nepal without the King and with democracy. As a result our country got a new constitution in 3rd Aswin 2072.

In the new Constitution of Nepal 2072, every Nepali citizen have equal rights. Any Nepali citizen can become a president/ prime minister if they have the ability.  Every Nepali citizen has right to freedom and justice. Minorities are included and given equal rights to majorities. The constitution of Nepal 2072 is based on an inclusive system.

Though, the constitution is new and still reforming , there is lot to be amended and understood but one thing is for sure the voice of Nepali people can and will be heard. We must remember the road to a great society might be long and difficult but together we can built a better tomorrow which is equal and happy.
