A single stick can be broken easily but a bundle of sticks is very hard to break. This is the essence of unity. Unity is the strength which can not be broken easily. National unity means unity of the people of a nations where they share their participation in nation building. Everyone works toward a common goal of building a nation. A country can have varieties of people, background difference, cultural difference, lingual difference but unity in a nation will always lead the country toward success.

Nepal is a small country but has vast differences in language, culture, tradition and ethnicity. Nepal is a multilingual, multi ethnic, multicultural in nature. If there was no unity among the country men development would be very difficult. Without the joint effort and contribution of everyone development is not possible. This is the ultimate truth for any nation with diversity. 

National unity is the basis of national strength of the country. National unity helps people to solve all kinds of problems easily. If there is any kind of attack from any other country we can easily protect our country with unity. This has been seen in past. National unity provides laborious and patriotic manpower for a nation which Prithivi Narayan Shah also proved in the Nepal's history.

If we have no unity in the country, we have to suffer many problems. The country becomes weak. In case of weakness the foreign powers might attack or invade a country . This is happening world wide in many countries. There will  be violence, murder and nationality will be lost. Therefore, national unity is necessary and compulsory for the development of our country. There are many leaders in our country who have forgotten about national unity and think about individuality. They are proud and They are lost. This is a huge mistake and red alarm for a country. 

If our national leaders also come together like the country men who live in harmony and unity , our country can develop and prosper.
