Any undesirable changes in physical and biotic element of water that degrades the quality is called water pollution.
Water pollution can also be defined as the release of substance into the surface of water like lakes, streams, rivers, seas, oceans etc to the point where the substance adversely affects the water. water bodies can be polluted by a wide variety of substance including chemicals, microorganism, organic waste, sediments, heat, petrol and radioactive substances.
