A guided or bound media are the electrical wires or cables used to connect parts of system together for data transmission. Information or signal flow in directed and narrow path in the media. This media is good for local area network connection like home and office. Connection is relatively fast compared to unguided media. Its types are:

Shielded Twisted Pair (STP)
Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP)
Coaxial Cable
Fiber Optic Cable
