Anemia is caused due to decrease of red blood cells in the body.

Anemia (also spelled anaemia) is a decrease in the total amount of red blood cells (RBCs) or hemoglobin in the blood, or a lowered ability of the blood to carry oxygen. When anemia comes on slowly, the symptoms are often vague and may include feeling tired, weakness, shortness of breath, and a poor ability to exercise.

Symptoms of anaemia are :
  • Fatigue.
  • Weakness.
  • Pale or yellowish skin.
  • Irregular heartbeats.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness.
  • Chest pain.
  • Cold hands and feet.

Anemia is typically defined as hemoglobin level of less than 13.5 gram/100 ml and in women as hemoglobin of less than 12.0 gram/100 ml.
