Pollination and types of pollination

Pollination is defined as the process of transfering pollen grains from the anther to the stigma of the same flower or different flower.  Pollinating agents are animals such as insects, birds, and bats; water; wind; and even plants themselves, when self-pollination occurs within a closed flower. Pollination often occurs within a species. There are two types of pollination are:

1. Self pollination 
2. Cross polination

Self pollination: The transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma of the same flower, another flower on the same plant, or the flower of a plant of the same clone. 

Cross polination: The transfer of pollen from the anther to the stigma one flowe to another flower.
