Strong wind blows in the mesosphere. The wind blows from west to east in winter and from east to west in spring.

Mesosphere is the coldest atmospheric layer surrounding the earth and the air in the mesosphere is extremely low density, thus the air pressure is really low causing the strong wind. The wind in the mesosphere can go up to 155 miles per hour in speed.
