The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), is an apex constitutional body to curb corruption and its tentacles in the country. President appoints the chief and other commissioners on the recommendation of the constitutional council. the aims of CIAA is to crack down the corruption issues at a national level with system-based approach. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) shall remain in his/her office up to six years from the date of appointment.
The main function of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA
- It focuses on detection and punishment of corrupt acts on the one hand and social, cultural and institutional reform on the other.
- To work prevent corruption.
- To collect evidence against the public post holder who has misused one's power and post.
- To file a case against the suspect in the special court iwh proof.
- To invest whether the budget is being used properly in all the public offices of the country.
Qualification (One should)
- be Nepali citizen of 45 years.
- have bachelors degree.
- have 20 years of experience in related field.
- have high moral character.
- Not be active member of any political parties.
