According to heliocentric theory, the sun is at the center and other planets, satellites are revolving in their own orbit.
This theory is the theory of present world, widely accepted and used. The heliocentric theory discarded the geocentric theory. Galileo proved the heliocentric theory.
The key characteristics of the heliocentric theory are :
- All Celestial bodies do not revolve around a single point
- The center of Earth is the center of the lunar spher that is the orbit of the moon around Earth.
- All the spheres in the solar system rotate around the Sun, which is near the center of the Universe.
Under heliocentric theory three model of heliocentric theory were developed which are :
- Copernican model
- Geocentric model
- Copernican revolution
