The non-renewable sources of energy such as coal, petroleum, natural gas etc which are formed from the remnant of dead plants or animals are called fossil fuels. These fuels are present in between the layers of sedimentary rocks. Some importance of fossil fuels are:
- They are used in vehicles and to run large factories.
- They are used for cooking purposes.
- They are used to get thermoelectricity.
