In the modern periodic table, Metals are place on the left hand side whereas non-metals are placed on the right hand side of the periodic table. Exception is hydrogen which is placed at the top of alkali metals in group I A. Similarly, Metalloids like Boron (B), Arsenic (As), Antimony (Sb), etc. are placed diagonally between metals and non-metals.
