Increasing Industrialization with the increase in population has become the cause of air pollution. Similarly; due to climate change, the earth's temperature has been found increased. So, death can be compared with the greenhouse. Greenhouse effect, a warming of Earth’s surface and troposphere (the lowest layer of the atmosphere) caused by the presence of water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and certain other gases in the air. Of those gases, known as greenhouse gases, water vapor has the largest effect. some of the solar radiation return back after reflection from the surface of the earth and from the atmosphere. The different greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, methane, nitrous oxide, etc. send the reflected solar radiation back to the earth's surface. The increased greenhouse gases absorb the heat and they prevent reflected heat waves from escaping out of the earth's atmosphere. As a result, the heat gets collected as that of the artificial greenhouse and the earth atmospheric, temperature increases. Hence, the phenomenon of increases in the temperature of the earth due to increased greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is called the greenhouse effect.
Human activities are changing Earth's natural greenhouse effect. Burning fossil fuels like coal and oil put more carbon dioxide into our atmosphere.
NASA has observed increases in the amount of carbon dioxide and some other greenhouse gases in our atmosphere. Too much of these greenhouse gases can cause Earth's atmosphere to trap more and more heat. This causes Earth to warm up.
The adverse effect of the greenhouse effect are
- It increases the atmospheric temperature.
- It brings a change in the water cycle.
- It may cause desertification.
- It declines biodiversity.
- It decreases agricultural production and fertility.
- It causes the melting of ice in the mountains.
- Melting of ice results in rising sea level which causes the problem to the people near sea-shore.
- It adversely affects the ecosystem and imbalance it.
- It causes an adverse effect on human health.
