S.N Guided media Unguided media
1. Guided media also called wired media. Unguided media also called wireless media.
2. It is cheaper. It is expensive.
3. It transmits data in the form of an electrical or optical signal. It transmits data in the form of electromagnetic signals (radio signs)
4. It transmits data through a specific path (cable). It transmits data through the air.
5. It provides better security during transmission. The security is weak during transmission.
6. Transmission speed is generally faster. Transmission speed is generally slower.
7. It has a low effect on human health as compared to unguided media. It has more effect on human health as compared to guided media.
8. Example: Twisted pair cable, coaxial cable. Example: Terrestrial microwave, Satellite, communication.

Guided media might also have adverse effects on human health. The pollution that is causes by bundles of wires, whih are generally non-bio degradable will cause serious problems. So i would say guided media will also equally cause health problems
