Glycerol(C3H8O3) is known as glycerin. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is sweet-tasting and non-toxic. It is manufactured from organic compounds such as propane.It fall in the alcoholic group.The glycerol backbone is found in those lipids known as glycerides. The uses of glycerol are:

  1. It is used to reduce the cracks on the skin.
  2. It is used to making medicine, printing ink, stamp pad ink, etc.
  3. It is used to manufacturing the high quality of soap.
  4. Glycerol is one of the most used additive for starch thermoplastic.
  5. It is also used as preservative.
