Glycerol(C3H8O3) is known as glycerin. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is sweet-tasting and non-toxic. It is manufactured from organic compounds such as propane.It fall in the alcoholic group.The glycerol backbone is found in those lipids known as glycerides. The uses of glycerol are:
- It is used to reduce the cracks on the skin.
- It is used to making medicine, printing ink, stamp pad ink, etc.
- It is used to manufacturing the high quality of soap.
- Glycerol is one of the most used additive for starch thermoplastic.
- It is also used as preservative.
