The drug is any chemical entity or a mixture of entities, other than those required for the maintenance of normal health, the administration of which alters the biological function and possible structure. Drugs may not be harmful always because all the medicines prepared by the chemical reaction in a controlled laboratory are drugs and many of them are used in saving lives. On the basis of different modes of using drugs, the use of drugs is usually categorized as drug use, drug misuse, drug abuse, and drug addiction.

Drug abuse

The use of illegal drugs or the use of prescription or over-the-counter drugs for purposes other than those for which they are meant to be used, or in excessive amounts. Drug abuse may lead to social, physical, emotional, and job-related problems. Drugs' trade is regulated by-laws, rules, and regulations that have the provision of the authority of a person to involve in the drug trade.

Drug misuse

If a person takes drugs in an inappropriate way for any purpose without the prescription of medical personnel, it is called drug misuse. It is mainly due to ignorance of people and lack of awareness regarding side effects of the drugs and random use of medicines.

Drug addiction

Drug addiction, also called substance use disorder, is a disease that affects a person's brain and behavior and leads to an inability to control the use of a legal or illegal drug or medication. Substances such as alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine are also considered drugs. Nowadays there are some modern technologies used to solve the addiction biologically.
