The stony masses, Having irregular shapes, revolving around the sun lying between the orbits of mars and Jupiter are called asteroids. For example : Ceres, Pallas, Vesta, Juno etc. The largest asteroids found till now is 'Ceres' whose diameter is 1000 km.
