During the chemical reaction, when the valence electrons are taken or given or shared, an attractive force is created in between them. Due to that attracting force, atoms are grouped together to form a molecule of a compound. In this way, the energy that keeps the atoms bonded with each other in the molecule is called a chemical bond.
